Doc and donkey

Here is an update on the young donkey drama they talked about last night at the Pals meeting. At the group’s urging Monique loaded up our young friend donkey behind the seat of Mark’s s-10 and he came home with Mark. Donkey and Doc seem to be getting along well and now donkey isn’t the smallest animal in the barn anymore (see picture). Stayed tuned throughout the winter to see how the project progresses.

October’s meeting

Here is a re-cap of the October meeting held at Wendy Nye’s HorseCreek Farm:

This month’s meeting was small but productive and informative. Our condolences to member Marie Umholtz on the passing of her father.

Cindy, Carol and Bev were there –also Monique and her friend Mark ( new guy)

Wendy got 8 classes set up for the donkey show with brief description of what  was to be expected with input from everybody.

We will plan a trip to Blue Lakes stables to watch a horse show and to get an idea of what to expect for donkey show

donkey show is still based on a fun show doing the best we can for the first time

going to get set up help for show from 4 H groups

also going to try and make it over to each farm to see how progress is going with donkeys getting ready for the show—-

talked about sawdust and where to get some–also about hay and prices

Monque told stories about her trip to Mt. Hope and what went on there and her friend Mark bought a little dwarf horse that  was there,..she and Mark told us about their donkeys and were both interested in the donkey show

she talked aoutt her rescued efforts and stories of Rescue Village etc.

talk just went round and round about different things–not all related to donkey stuff

everybody left around 10 pm
